Don’t Waste It

There’s roughly 6 billion people on the planet who would trade places with you in an instant.  They wouldn’t even have to think twice.

There’s an unlimited buffet in front of us, with anything we could possibly imagine, right there for the taking.  An endless selection.  We can pick anything we can dream of.  What are we going to choose?  What are we going to do?  What impact are we going to make?

How dare I waste such an opportunity.  How dare anyone waste it.

  1. Many people might want to trade places with me because of the material prosperity around me, but my mindset is more valuable, at least for the people who don’t have to worry about where their next meal will come from.

Anyone can get that mindset for free.

This is interesting. Many philosophers, like the Cynics in Greece, actively practiced poverty. Even if only for days at a time, the knowledge that you could survive without all material comfort is empowering. It eliminates fear. This is even more true in a country like America. After all, no matter what, they can’t eat you.
